2K Foundations x Kevin Durant
The COVID-19 pandemic may have halted fans from traveling to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan, but it couldn’t stop the launch of the newly rehabilitated community basketball court by the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation and 2K Foundations.
What we did
To celebrate his inclusion in the 2020 Olympics, 2K Foundations teamed up with the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation to bring life back to a court at the Okubo Park in Shinjuku, Tokyo, a growing area of the city. We aligned with local partner Go Parkey to help execute the vision on site and together we transformed the well-loved court. Along the way, we were also introduced to FATE, a well-known muralist in Japan, who created a meaningful piece on the court representative of the missions that KDCF and 2K Foundations hold dear.
Though COVID may have changed our timelines, it couldn’t hinder our love of basketball. In Summer 2022, the new space was unveiled to the delight of the community.
